So…Update! It’s been almost a month since the last post (Oops! Sorry guys!) Things have been super hectic and crazy. Between re-doing the basement from floor to ceiling (There will be a separate post on that later) and work, and 5 bazillion other projects we’ve got going (Okay maybe not a bazillion… maybe) we seem to have let the blog slip through the cracks. BUT NEVER FEAR! RAECHEL WITH COFFEE IS HERE! Seriously though how wonderful is coffee?
Over the past month I’ve been slacking on my art. I know I posted about a month or so ago that I would be doing a weekly art update but the very next week I ended up going out of town for a funeral (Not Fun!) and things just seemed to spiral downwards from there. I have been creating though. Not a lot but little things here and there. I’m currently in the process of stretching canvas onto a 7ft x 5ft frame (Again, there will be a separate post on that project to come soon), I’ve got several paintings floating around my mind, and yesterday I filmed my first “Speed paint demo” kinda video just waiting to be edited (if you guys are interested in those kinds of things). Here is a picture of the piece that is featured in the video.
Outside of art, our projects have mostly been focused on the basement. Removing the rest of the wallpaper glue and filling in holes , ripping up carpet on the stairs, choosing paint colors and so on. Through all this I have come to the conclusion that wallpaper is evil. Vile. Nasty. Should be burned. No exceptions. If you have ever considered putting wallpaper in your home…. we cannot be friends. Removing the ugly gold fleck swirly patterned wallpaper has been a not pleasant experience to say the least.
Random change of topic: SPRING! I for one am ready for spring. This morning when I went to work it was a nice frosty 27 degrees and windy. This is not spring. This is cold and dreary. I demand spring! I am ready to landscape! And plant pretty things I’ll probably end up killing! I’ve been browsing Pinterest and Hometalk for weeks now looking at garden ideas and spring/summer projects. Most of which I will probably never get around to actually doing, because let’s face it, we all have that one board on Pinterest we know we will never attain in real life. Yet we tuck away our hopes and dreams of lavish, lush, beautiful gardens and ornate re-purposed items we will never actually have. But hey, where there’s a dream, there’s a Pinterest board!
I guess I’ll end this random update/rant/thingy with a promise. (Maybe). To have at least 3 more posts up by the end of next week. In the meantime, what are some of your favorite spring projects? Share in the comments or shoot me an email! Also feel free to follow our Pinterest, I promise to be sharing cute and lavish garden ideas for the next few days…at least. Maybe a few weeks. I’ve got the spring fever bad man!
