Time for a Media Room Update!
Remember where we started? Lovely blue carpet, gold swirly wallpaper. Check out that bare wood molding between white baseboards and white floor. And you can just make out the brassy transition from the carpet to the vinyl.
Then there was the in-between where we removed copious amounts of wallpaper.
We now have it spackled, primed and ready for paint . . . if we can settle on a color.
In trying to choose a color we have looked at many, many, many pictures. Still can’t decide. I think we are going to put the chocolate brown furniture in there with some bean bags. I am going to redo my thrift store desk as a TV cabinet in a darker stain (PolyShades Tudor which should get rid of the orange-y finish but still let the wood grain show through). Here’s a before of the desk:
And the flooring is toasted hickory.
Which leads us to think we shouldn’t go too dark on the walls. Choices, choices, choices.
There are no windows in this room but it does open to another sitting room and the stairway goes up to the kitchen. With both of those doors closed there is no natural light.
So what do you think? Lighter walls or darker walls?
I really love the look of the cement walls. Maybe a wet cement looking paint?
Or dark walls?
Of course the kids would love this!

What say you? Any ideas?
