Hi! This is Debra. Raechel has been doing most of the posts lately so I thought I would jump in and update you on what I’ve been up to.
Yep. That’s about it.
We got the rest of the wallpaper down and then we got this:
Snow! And considering we were not forecast for any snow this was a bit of a surprise. Here’s the old Chevy with a coating of snow.
But I did take a bit of time today to hit some of my favorite thrift stores on the way home from work. My wonderful thrifty finds: a globe for $4.00, a mercury glass compote dish for $2.00 and an old leather belt for $1.00. I apologize in advance for the picture quality. It was already dark by the time I got a moment to take the pictures so every light in the library is on 🙂
Raechel has been on the lookout for globes and this one is in really good shape so $4.00 wasn’t a bad price.
The mercury glass compote dish is super cute. And you know I love me some mercury glass. It is in perfect condition. I’m not sure where I’m going to put it yet but I’m sure we’ll find a spot.
(Sorry for the reflection of the photographer.)
I had purchased an old leather belt a few months back and it has been sitting in my decorating armoire since. When I saw this one today (the narrower one) I recalled seeing a project using them as a wrap around a vase or glass container and thought that would be really cute to redo the mantel downstairs. I just did mine all willy nilly. I’ll take pictures once we get it down there.
All in all, not a bad thrifting day. I am itching to get out and do an all day shopping spree but I have walls to prep for paint. I am procrastinating. Anyone want to go shopping?
What great thrifty finds have you brought home lately?
