Debra here again with another great thrifty find from the past couple of weeks. A really cute Lily Pad Lamp. I wasn’t even sure what a lily pad lamp was but when I saw this I grabbed it and ran.
I found this lamp at a local thrift store for $9.99. Not too bad. It doesn’t have the globes but I’ve found some I like at the local hardware store. Just have to stop in and get them.
The base is really cute and quite heavy.
The stems of the lamp were quite wobbly at the store so they had the cord wrapped around them to keep them up. This is an easy fix, just flip the lamp over and tighten the nuts on the bottom. They aren’t positioned just where I want them yet but I tightened them up enough to keep them from flopping around for the pictures.
All of the sockets work. The stems need a little cleaning but otherwise it is in great condition. I don’t know how much I love the globe holder thingys and I don’t know what would be involved to change those out to something a bit less eighties-ish. Overall I am pleased with it and even with spending a little for the globes it will be a great floor lamp for less than $50.00. Not too shabby.
I’ll add an updated picture once we get it cleaned up and the globes on.
What do you think?
